Supplier Price Files into the Stock System

Weekly supplier price files in three layouts, reformatted by hand before the stock system will import them.

Illustrative example. Figures are calculated from typical timings, not a measured customer result. Measured case studies, published with permission, will replace these over time.

Before

Three suppliers send price files in different layouts every week. Someone opens each one, removes columns, fixes product codes, saves it as a CSV and imports it. Errors are found when the import fails or, worse, when a customer is quoted the wrong price. About 45 minutes per file.

After

Each supplier layout is recognised, transformed into the stock system's import format, validated for missing codes and out-of-range prices, and imported. Anything unmatched is listed for a person. Original files are archived and each run is logged.
