Labour cost

Why we ask for your hourly figure

From 1 April 2026 the UK National Living Wage for workers aged 21 and over is £12.71 an hour. Actual employment cost is normally higher once employer costs, benefits, training, equipment and overhead are considered. That is why the calculator lets you enter your own hourly cost rather than assuming a universal rate.
