FAQ

Straight answers to the questions and objections we hear from local businesses on almost every first visit.

Do you work with businesses across the whole of Dumfries and Galloway?

Yes. We are based at Mouswald near Dumfries and work with businesses from Langholm and Gretna to Stranraer and Portpatrick, and everywhere in between. The first review can be at your premises or online, and the software runs wherever your computers are.

Can you come and see the process in person?

Yes, and we usually prefer to. Sitting beside the person who does the job is the fastest way to understand it. A screen-share works just as well if that is easier for you.

Our broadband is poor. Will automation still work?

Usually. Suitable workflows run locally on your own computer and only need the connection for updates, monitoring and web dashboards. We are specific about which parts need connectivity rather than promising 'works offline' for everything.

Do I need to replace my existing software?

Usually not. Many projects connect or automate around existing systems, including older desktop programs common in local businesses. Our work often begins where existing software stops: the manual steps between systems.

Can you automate spreadsheets?

Often, yes. Repetitive Excel and CSV processing is a strong automation candidate when the steps are predictable. Keep Excel for the work it is good at; we automate the repetitive work around it.

It only takes 20 minutes.

How often? Twenty minutes every working day is approximately 87 hours a year. The frequency matters more than how small the task feels once.

We are a very small business. Is this for us?

Most of our customers are. A one- or two-person office is exactly where repetitive admin hurts most, because there is nobody to hand it to. We size the workflows and the pricing to match.

Does everything need to be in the cloud?

No. Some workflows process data locally on your own computer. Cloud services are used where the feature benefits from them: licensing, configuration, monitoring, updates or web access.

What happens when something fails?

Important automations include logging, validation and clear failure and exception handling. Automation should fail safely and tell you, rather than silently. And you have a local contact to call.

How much will it save?

That depends on your current process. We estimate potential value using your timings, frequency and labour assumptions rather than a generic savings claim, and we show the calculation.

Can I add more automations later?

Yes. A modular platform adds supported workflows, reports, dashboards and sites as the business grows.

Why monthly?

Because the service continues after installation: updates, support, compatibility maintenance, monitoring and hosted functionality all have ongoing value and cost.

Can't I just hire someone?

Sometimes hiring is the right answer, and in a rural area it is not always easy. Software is strongest where work is repetitive and rules-based. People are strongest where judgement, relationships, creativity and physical work are needed.
